My Totally Awesome Review:
I've had to sit for a while and think on how to write this review. River is a strong brave girl that grew up in one of the most horrible environments imaginable. A child should never have to go through and endure what she did. When she finally broke free of that hell hole and went to college she found love but all wasn't as it seemed. The warning signs were there. People were warning her away but she just wouldn't listen. She had love in her heart and rose colored glasses covering her eyes. That poor girl went through unimaginable things; things cause by the one that's supposed to love her. My heart hurt so bad for her. She finally came to and doled out her own sweet revenge agains the one that hurt her. Unfortunately it wasn't over there were more players in the game. Everything came back full circle when her past and present collide in ways you don't see coming. It was inspirational to see her pull her self back up and grab onto her strength by the horns. The strength she had all along but had lost along the way. Thankfully there in the shadows was someone that had been waiting all along; someone that wanted to pick up of the broken pieces and help her get through it all at a great cost to oneself. For the first half of the book I wanted to yell and scream at her. I was mad, angry and wanted to cry. When you are in the mindset of the character and seeing everything through her eyes you can understand her reasoning for going though what she did. This book put me through the wringer! This is an extremely hard book to read. It covers so many topics that aren't publicly talked about enough. Abuse no matter what shape or form it's in is NOT okay! If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship PLEASE get help! There is HELP out there! There is LIGHT at the end of that dark tunnel! Thank you to the author for having the courage to write this book and talk about topics that a lot people over look.
I cannot stress this enough please please please heed the trigger warning!
I recieved an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
